David R. Gutke, MBA, CPA, CVA Dave completed his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, at the University of Utah in 1991, and was a recipient of a Presidential Scholarship and an Accounting Scholar Award. In 1992, Dave completed his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Utah on a Fields Scholarship, where he was named as a Graduate Dean Scholar and as The Outstanding Master of Business Administration Student. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa (America's Oldest Honorary Society), Phi Kappa Phi (Honorary Society), Beta Gamma Sigma (National Business Honorary Society), and Beta Alpha Psi (National Accounting Fraternity). He also served a one-year term as a Fraternity President, was awarded a National Sigma Gamma Chi Scholarship, and volunteered as an accounting tutor. While completing his undergraduate degree, Dave was employed as Manager and Accountant for an audio/video retail sales and rental establishment in Salt Lake City, Utah. In May 1991, Dave joined Bement & Company, becoming licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Utah in June 1993 by passing the CPA exam on his first sitting. In April 2001, Dave completed the required training and examination requirements to become a Certified Valuation Analyst. Currently, Dave is a Senior Manager at Bement & Company, with responsibilities in taxation, auditing/accounting, and business valuations. His extensive experience in taxation includes corporate, partnership, individual and non-profit tax compliance, employment taxation, and estate and gift planning. Dave's accounting and auditing experience includes planning, supervising and conducting audits, financial analysis, budgeting and cash flow, and accounting system implementation. In addition, Dave manages Bement & Company's valuation services, overseeing business valuations for estate and tax planning and gifting, buy/sell agreements, divorce, and mergers and acquisitions. Dave is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Dave, his wife Heather and their five children make their home in Centerville, Utah, where Dave is an elected member of the Centerville City Council. Dave lived in France for two years and speaks French. He volunteers in his church, in the Boy Scouts of America, and as a youth sports coach.
